OIL FIELD BRINE CONTAMINATION
One of the specialties of LBG-Guyton Associates is investigating ground-water contamination caused by oil field brine. The firm has accumulated a broad range of expertise having worked on approximately 100 such projects. Typical clientele include both oil companies alleged to have caused the problems, and ground-water users affected by residual contamination. The scope of work involves researching natural aquifer geochemistry and hydrogeological conditions in the area of concern as well as any potential sources of contamination. The extent of existing oil field brine contamination is modeled utilizing historical data, and with the completion of test drilling to fill in data-gaps, as deemed necessary. The direction and rate of ground-water movement is computed, and future conditions are projected. Close cooperation is maintained by LBG-Guyton hydrogeologists with clients and their attorneys to ensure the necessary information is developed in an expeditious manner and properly presented in reports and/or expert testimony.

Our Areas of Expertise:
- Evaluation of ground-water availability
- Determination of sources and extent of contamination
- Determination of effects of contamination on present ground-water supplies and prediction of future effects
- Preparation of reports and exhibits
- Expert witness testimony
